Compelling Marketing Communications: Business Referral Group


Mission Statement: To refer qualified potential clients to each participant in order to facilitate the growth of each participant's business!

  • The structure of the Referral Roundtable will be loosely based on other models of business referral organizations. Although informal, each participant should be committed to helping each other participant reach prospective clients. However, we are focused more on quality introductions rather than referrals just for the sake of referrals.
  • It is to each participant's benefit to regularly attend meetings. Since we gather only twice monthly, a strong effort should be made to attend all meetings. The more each participant is engaged in the process, the more each participant, and the group as a whole, benefits.
  • We will allow one participant per industry to participate so no one feels they have to compete with other participant of our group.
  • Meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, from 5-6 PM with the possibility of conversations continuing during happy hour. Meeting place is:

    South Windsor, CT

Meeting Agenda :

  1. One minute for each participant to:
    • Introduce yourself
    • Introduce your company
    • Identify who you'd like to be introduced to; your ideal client, a specific company or person
  2. 5 - 15 Presentation:
    • Each participant has an opportunity to demonstrate their area(s) of expertise, with the goal that we will all learn more about that participant's business, which in turn helps us all to better understand what types of referrals are most effective to the group
  3. Testimonial(s)/Thank You(s):
    • Time to recognize past referrals and share testimonials, including what made a particular referral good to help each participant gain a further practical understanding of the best types of referrals for each participant
  4. Exchange of leads:
    • Time for referral exchange
  5. Open discussion:
    • Marketing ideas
    • Other networking opportunities
    • Workshops
